APRIL 6 FINALS

Hello everyone,
I have some important information I need to share with everyone regarding Short Course Racing at Trackside. It has been almost 3 years now that Traxxas changed the racing world with the release of the Slash. Everyone in the RC world has watched the amount of new racers and enthusiast who have joined in the fun of RC. We obviously have seen what it has done to the amount of racers we have at Trackside. As the SC class started to take hold and more and more SC trucks and products were coming to market. We had to ensure that during the quick growth of this class, we had rules that would keep things as far as possible in the stock SC class. The main rule that we were most concerned about was tires. We set our rules for the SC stock class to make it as easy as we could to participate, we only allowed RTR tires. As we look back over the past couple of years, there is no doubt in my mind that this was the correct decision as we have watched our Stock class grow and produces some great racing. But as with anything in life and business, you have to adapt and stay with the times as conditions and situations change.
Over the past year, this is exactly what has happened, things have changed and progressed as they always do in any form of racing. SC offerings from our industry have brought new options and changes. We have seen RTR kits come with more tire options and compounds, some that you cannot tell if they are stock RTR or from their aftermarket line of tires. Then you have some SC trucks coming with a more standard race type tire like the FT SC10, Losi XXX-SCT and to be released next month the AE SC10RS. As we always try to do in running things at Trackside, our hope is always to have the racers best interest in mind. To try and set our rules and conditions to keep things fun and fair for all who participate. As our RTR rule has worked over the past couple of years, SC racing has out grown this rule and we have decided to make some changes.
So starting immediately we are updating our rules for the Stock SC class to be open SC tire. Any compound or tread design SC tire is allowed in our Stock class. This will also be the case for the upcoming Short Course Showdown Nation Wide Tour stop at Trackside, any SC tire will be allowed in Stock SC class. I understand this is a major change, but it is something that needs to be done as things continue to change and our rule from 2+ years ago does not fit into the current conditions of racing.
We hope everyone understands our reasoning behind this decision and if you have any questions at all, please feel free to give me a call at Trackside or drop me an email at info@trackside.com
As always we thank all of you for the support you give Trackside and we will continue to try and provide the best place possible to enjoy this awesome hobby.
Sincerely,
Scotty

As many of you have heard, I have decided to make a major change at Trackside. For over 16 years, Trackside has been know as one of the major carpet race tracks in the USA. Through these years, we have watch the interest of on road racing grow to heights we could never have imagined and unfortunately over the past 2+ years have watched it continue to decrease in popularity around Milwaukee to where we were only getting a few drivers on race night.
So with this current situation, I had to make a decision that will affect everyone at Trackside. I have decided to change the Carpet track to a Dirt off road track. As I know this will disappoint many of the on road racers, but it was a decision that I had to make to ensure the success and growth of Trackside. This Sunday June 13th will be our final Carpet race and I hope we will have a great turnout for racing to help us bring to an end an era of great racing and prepare for the next era we will begin and that is of our new off road track. With this change to the front track being dirt, I have decided to keep the current track in the back dirt also and this will be configured into a banked oval and we will have oval racing weekly on Thursday nights. This change to dirt oval will not happen until after the front track is complete, so Off Road racing WILL continue on Thursday and Friday nights until things are complete.
We will begin changing things starting on Monday June 14th, our goal is to have everything complete and be up and running by August 1st. We have updated our rules section of the website to ensure everyone has the rules needed for our new off road track. Rules and classes for the dirt oval will be forth coming.
I hope that everyone understands the reasons we had to make this decision and will embrace the change and help us continue to make Trackside one of the best RC Facilities in the country. If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to email me at info@trackside.com
Sincerely,
Scotty Ernst
